Joyful Minds Womens Circles

“Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing” - Clarissa Pinkola Estes

My own journey of growth has become an increasingly spiritual one where I’ve been seeking out connection with myself, listening to my own intuition and building a deeper connection with others. This path has led me to circles because circles offer an answer to all of those questions!

What are Circles

You may be here because you’ve heard about circle and are intrigued to learn more, or maybe you’ve attended circle before and are looking to join one. Whether you’re a newbie or an old hand, you’re very welcome here.

Women’s circles offer community and connection, groundedness and nourishment, understanding and great wisdom. As humans we are all hard wired for connection and circles give us the opportunity to make heartfelt bonds. Women’s circles allow us a space to explore our inner worlds, learn more about ourselves and heal and grow. There is something really special about having a place to go where you can be the authentic you, take off any masks that you are wearing, take off any armour, and put down any bags you’re carrying and connect with other women doing the same.

Women’s circles are not aligned with a religion, and are inclusively open to anyone who identifies as a woman. We all come from different spiritual and cultural backgrounds and gather around the ideas of: Sisterhood (having each others backs, empowering one another), a respect for the earth (wildness, turning to nature as a teacher) & co-creation (the understanding that just as we co-create our experience in circle, so do we co-create life on earth).

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to get you to be something else is the greatest accomplishment” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

New Moon Circles represent a time for going within and new beginnings, for setting intentions for the rising, building energy of the Waxing Phase of the moon cycle.  At New Moon we set intentions for what we want to create.  Full Moon is preparation for the shedding, surrendered energy of the Waning Phase.  At Full Moon we set intentions for what we want to release.  New Moon Women’s Circles are held virtually.  If you would like to join a Full Moon Circle you are invited to join a Joyful Minds Full Moon Cacao Ceremony, which are held in person.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there” - Rumi

What will I gain from attending

Often people say they’re not really sure why they felt a calling to attend circle but once they did they had a profound and deep experience. This was true for me too! I would summarise the benefits as:

Connection – circle provides an opportunity to connect with ourselves. A lovely warm and inviting space to shut out the outside world, close the laptop, turn off the phone, and be fully present with ourselves. As a result you will leave feeling more connected, centred and resourced.

Intuition is a muscle we need to exercise regularly for it to get stronger, and that can be really difficult whilst juggling all the other demands on ourselves. Living intuitively means connecting with our true nature, in a unedited, unfiltered, uninhibited way and allow that intuition to guide us.

Community – circle creates a deep heart-felt bond with others and that lovely feeling when we connect with others at a deeper level and are truly seen and heard. We realise that we’re not alone and we are welcomed into circle as resourceful, creative and whole.

Wisdom – there’s real wisdom in listening to the stories of others and in verbalising our own. We gain empathy and understanding when we hear others talk of their challenges. We realise that our shadows aren’t just ours and that we all share the human condition. Said another way, our humanity unites us.
